I'm Aly. I like making things.

I build software in Naples. Most days that means machine learning on spectral data, which is a long way of saying I teach computers to look at light and guess what something is made of.

Evenings go somewhere else. Usually an app, sometimes a small service, occasionally a thing that only runs on my laptop and only if I don't touch it.

This site is where all of that ends up. Some of it is finished. Some of it stopped halfway because I got bored or found a better idea, and I've kept those too, because the half-finished ones are where I learned the most.

I came into engineering sideways, through the Apple Developer Academy, and I've never shaken the habit of building something just to find out whether I can.
